The Sunflower enhances support and understanding for individuals with non-visible disabilities, ensuring that everyone receives the care they deserve. Patients and visitors can obtain a Sunflower lanyard or badge if they wish to signal to staff that they may require additional assistance or understanding. This small yet impactful symbol supports inclusivity and creates a welcoming space for all.

Paul White, CEO, Hidden Disabilities Sunflower said:

“We are delighted to welcome Goring Hall Hospital to the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower network. Visiting a hospital can be a stressful and worrying time. So, healthcare providers must recognise and support patients and their families with non-visible disabilities. Because the staff at Goring Hall Hospital now recognise the Sunflower and what it represents, it removes a layer of trepidation and helps to ensure that Sunflower wearer's needs are recognised and supported. The Sunflower is also available for staff with invisible disabilities to wear if they choose to.”
